Food suggestions for Champagne
Picnic finger food with Champagne:
The brioche-like aromas you might find in richer, and often more aged champagnes, will go well with aged cheeses with nutty, salty tastes, such as Gouda or mature cheddar. With that in mind, it's worth putting Parmesan, Gouda and slightly aged goat's cheeses on your hitlist of what cheese to serve with champagne. Fresh bread and fried octopus are always a good idea when you want to enjoy a Glass of Champagne - almonds, Popcorn and potato chips also fit very well. Last but not least, berries (especially strawberries and raspberries) and stone fruits (peaches, plums).
